The Transaction Currency Converter in Book4time, once enabled, will allow the property to maintain the prices of spa services and products in a global currency, such as the US Dollar. During checkout, the system will convert the service and/or product price to local currency. This way, even if the price is in USD, the guest can pay using the local currency.
The Transaction Currency functionality is meant for international spas to maintain their menu prices in a global currency; however, spa guests will pay in the local currency, not the global one. Book4Time maintains a Currency Converter to help the property avoid losses based upon the daily fluctuations of the local vs. global currency. The Transaction Currency functionality will automatically convert the service and product prices to the local currency during checkout.
It is recommended that the spa updates the Book4time Currency Converter daily to reflect the actual currency rate so that the system will accurately capture the conversion during checkout.
Follow the steps below to set up Transaction Currency:
- Navigate to Admin > System Settings > Expand Global Preferences > Exchange Rates > Transaction Currency Setup tab.
- Click Edit.
- Check the Active box.
Note: This box identifies if the Transaction Currency Conversion is enabled. Your spa's business processes will determine if this function is suitable for your daily operations. Keep the Active box unchecked if you don't intend to use this feature.
- Select a currency from the Transaction Currency dropdown.
Note: This is the currency that the system will convert the current prices into.
- Enter the Conversion Rate.
Tip: Type "daily currency exchange" into a search browser to help determine your local daily exchange rate.
Note: This is the exchange rate that the system will use. For example, the service price of 100 USD will automatically convert the service price to 4,550 PHP during checkout.
- Click Finish.
