Making a block type Flexible allows you to easily bump a block, giving priority to a guest appointment. For example, a technician lunch or break scheduled at 12:30 can be set up to automatically move giving priority to a 45 minute appointment being booked at noon.
To make a block flexible
- From the main menu, navigate to Admin > System Settings.
- Click Staff Settings and select Block Reasons.
- Select Edit next to the block type you would like to edit.
- Select the Flexible checkbox for the block type.
- Click Update.
Note: If there are any small gaps before and/or after the blocked time, the availability search will return those additional options as well. The system will automatically "bump" the scheduled block either ahead or behind its scheduled time in order to fit an appointment in.
For example, if a 60 minute lunch break is scheduled for 12:30 pm but there is 15 minutes of availability before and after the lunch break, the system will return results for 11:45 and 12:30 on a 30 minute service.
