IP Restriction allows you to control login access from a specific IP address. This means that users outside the specified IP addresses cannot access Book4Time. Both Location and User profiles allow you to enter several IP ranges.
Note: IP addresses must be in CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing) notation.
Important: To override IP restriction for a user group, enable the following setting from: Admin > System Settings > Expand Security settings and expand the chosen user group > System > Enable Login From Unrestricted IP.
To add IP restrictions for a Location:
- Navigate to Admin > Account Management > Locations > Select your location.
- Click Edit and in the IP Restrictions field, enter the IP Address from which you want to allow access.
Note: If you have more than one address, then use a comma to separate them. There is no limit to the number of IP addresses you can enter.
Tip: To find out what your IP address is, open an internet browser and search: "What is my IP address?" A number will appear (e.g. 12.345.678.90). To convert it to CIDR format, open another browser tab and search: "Convert my IP address to CIDR." Select an IP address converter from the results, then copy and paste your IP address and click the command to convert it into CIDR notation.
To add an IP Restriction to a User:
- Navigate to Admin > Account Management > Users > Locations > Click the User's location > Click the User name.
- Click Edit and enter one or more IP address(es) in the IP Restrictions field.
