A House Account, also referred to as a customer credit account, is the credit available in a guest’s account. Guests can use this amount to make future payments.
A House Account is useful for the following:
- Process refunds: You can process refunds to the guest's house account and the guest can use this balance to pay for. To be able to do this, you must setup House Account as a tender type.
- Sell prepaid services: You can allow customers to make advance payments for purchases that they may make at a future date. This is referred to as prepaid services.
The sale is made in the Point-of-Sale (POS) with a SKU type called House. The purchased amount gets added to the guest's house account which can be used to pay for future payments. To setup this SKU, read How can I setup the sale of prepaid services?
