A closed register denotes that no other transactions will be made using this register for the remainder of the day. Registers can be closed at any time of day, but should typically be opened and closed once each day.
Before you close a register, ensure that the following tasks are completed:
To close the register
- From the main menu, navigate to Front Desk > Cash Drawer Management > Click the Register Summary tab.
- Click Close Register.
- At the prompt Do you wish to print the cash register closing summary now?, click Yes to print. Otherwise, click No.
- At the prompt Are you sure you want to close the register now?, click Yes to close the register.
A second confirmation prompt appears verifying that your register was closed successfully.
