Important: Ensure that you have set the Default Sort Order for the Scheduler to Utilization. Read: Select Utilization as the Default Sort Order
If you want to sort the Scheduler based on technician utilization, then you must must define the utilization calculation. Utilization is calculated on a points system and the points you define will be used to calculate how utilized a technician is. You can set up the utilization calculation based on the service group and the technician request type such as male request, female request, or no preference appointments. Further, you could define if you want the utilization to calculate based on Service Type or Service Duration.
After you define the utilization, the Scheduler displays the least utilized technician first and the most utilized appear later. This applies to online bookings as well.
To define the technician utilization watch this video or read the instructions below
- From the main menu, navigate to Admin > System Settings.
- Click Appointment Settings.
- Click Equity Booking.
By default, the Request Type tab displays. - Enter the Utilization Multiplier for each Request Type.
Utilization Multiplier is the points allocated to each request type. This could range from decimals to whole numbers.
Enter a maximum of one number before the decimal such as the number 1 and enter two numbers after the decimal such as 0.25.
If no number is entered, by default, the Book4Time system adds “1” as the Utilization Multiplier. - Click the Service Groups tab.
- Select the Utilization Method for each Service Group setup for the account.
The Utilization Method determines how the points are calculated for utilization. This can be based on Service Price or Service Duration.
Select N/A if utilization should not be considered when booking services for that service group. - Click Finish.
You have define the utilization calculation.
